How to encrypt a file
Follow these simple steps to encrypt a file in seconds. It will allow you to encrypt files of any type and size, on any kind of drive, including USB drives and network shares. Encrypted files can also be uploaded to the cloud, sent as e-mail attachments, or copied to anywhere you wish, and they will always remain encrypted.
1. Download the file encryption program
In order to encrypt files with strong encryption, you first need to download a file encryption tool like CryptoForge:

2. Encrypt the file
To encrypt a file, right-click the file you want to encrypt and choose "Encrypt" from the context menu. If the "Encrypt" item does not show up on the menu, then you have not yet installed file encryption software yet.
3. Enter the password.
Then enter the password to encrypt the file. It is very important not to forget the encryption password, and it is recommended to take note of it. Otherwise you would not be able to decrypt the file.
Done! The encrypted file can now be moved freely. For instance you can upload it to the cloud, sent it by email as file attachment, or copied to a USB memory stick. The file will always remain encrypted. By default, the software will remember your encryption password for a minute, so you can encrypt additional files without having to reenter the password every time. After the timeout period, you will need to enter the correct password to be able to decrypt the file or to encrypt additional files.
